Chevy ChaseUpon graduation from school, Don went to work for Pontiac Motors.

In 1944, Don went into the U.S. telecommunicationsArmy Air Corp. He is pictured above at Scott Field in Illinois. Don served as a telecomminucations instructor.

After the war, Pontiac Motors moved Don and Marion to the Washinton D.C. as District Sales Manager. In Washington, Don held subsequent regional wholesale management positions for manufacturers including Packard, Mercury, and Mercedes Benz.

Don also had positions in automotive retail management with dealerships selling Pontiac, Mercedes, Pugeot, Renault, and Volkswagen. The Volkswagen dealership was in Baltimore, Maryland.

In 1967, Don and Marion purchased a Volkswagen dealership in Charlottesville, Virginia.
